Out of 37 cat family species, Black-footed cat of South Africa is called the smallest cat in the world. The body length of this smallest pet among cats family is 19 to 24 inches with a shoulder height of 9 inches. Having a body weight of 2.5 to 4.5 pounds, they may weight as little as 1.5 kilograms; it is quite a petite cat. Their body color tan to reddish with the black spots on their whole body while their feet are covered with the wide black strips. This smallest wild cats breed or species is an amazing hunter, which targets mainly on small mammals and birds weighting equally or slightly more as they have, but also eats insects and reptiles. They can spend a huge amount of time without drinking water, moreover most of the time they fulfill their thirst from the target they capture and sometimes by licking dew on long grass.
